This role will also help oversee the completion of the action plans and certain tasks heretofore handled by the plants. • Taking charge of ensuring our Canadian plants are adhering to the appropriate environmental legal obligations in areas such as managing emergencies, liaising with governmental departments, providing technical support, etc. • Making sure plants are compliant with specific rules identified during the environmental review. • Compiling environmental impacts and handling their mandatory reporting to the various governmental departments and municipalities (water and energy consumption, emission of pollutants into the atmosphere and the water, carbon footprint), as well as the plants’ annual environmental review and computerizing the review process. • Drafting, maintaining and sharing a technical guide of best environmental practices (milk processing processes). ‘The expected level of standards:’ Bachelor's degree in environmental studies or biology required / Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Master’s degree in environmental studies, preferred. Minimum five (5) years experience, including one specialization in environmental management (regulations, awareness, etc.) and expertise in plant processes (processes, chemical, technical calculations, etc.), required. Knowledge of water treatment processes an asset. Food manufacturing experience is an asset Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English (English required to work with colleagues and clients in other Canadian provinces).
