Role Description We are seeking an experienced and motivated Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant (VRC) to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of vocational rehabilitation experience and hold a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP) designation. This role is ideal for a skilled rehabilitation professional who is confident managing complex files, conducting comprehensive assessments, developing client-centred rehabilitation plans, and collaborating with insurers, employers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders in Canada. Key Responsibilities Manage a diverse caseload of vocational rehabilitation files from referral through closure. Conduct comprehensive vocational rehabilitation assessments to identify clients' abilities, limitations, transferable skills, vocational interests, and employment goals. Develop individualized rehabilitation and return-to-work plans based on client needs and available medical, functional, and vocational information. Conduct transferable skills analyses and labour market research where appropriate. Identify suitable employment, retraining, education, and vocational options. Liaise effectively with clients, employers, insurers, case managers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders. Coordinate and monitor rehabilitation services and interventions. Support clients in achieving sustainable return-to-work or vocational outcomes. Prepare clear, objective, evidence-based professional reports. Provide recommendations regarding vocational rehabilitation, accommodation, return-to-work planning, and employability. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational standards and privacy requirements. Participate in case conferences and communicate effectively with referral sources and other professionals. Manage competing priorities while meeting established service standards and reporting timelines. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience working in vocational rehabilitation, disability management, rehabilitation consulting, or a related field. CVRP designation required. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Rehabilitation, Psychology, Kinesiology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or another relevant discipline. Strong knowledge of vocational rehabilitation principles, return-to-work practices, disability management, and transferable skills analysis. Experience working with insurance, workplace disability, or occupational rehabilitation files is considered an asset. Strong report-writing and clinical/professional documentation skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic case management systems.
