Job summary
Job Title: Document Controller Duration: 5 months with extension for another year Schedule: 5/40 Location: Calgary, AB This opportunity offers involvement in engineering and construction projects, Management of Change initiatives, operational work and wider business activities within a technical document control environment. The role will support document management, project turnover, archiving and closeout while helping maintain quality, accuracy and consistency across project records and vendor documentation. This position is well suited to candidates with strong document lifecycle knowledge, electronic document management systems experience and a proactive approach to stakeholder support. Required Experience: Previous experience in document control, project administration, records management, engineering support or a related field. Experience supporting engineering, construction, energy, utilities or other technical projects. Experience managing engineering documents, drawings, project records and vendor documentation. Experience supporting project setup, execution and closeout within document management environments. Required Skills: Ability to receive, review, quality check, register and distribute technical documentation accurately. Strong understanding of document lifecycles, revisions, approvals, transmittals and project closeout activities. Ability to confirm compliance with numbering, naming, revision, status, metadata and submission requirements. Experience creating and maintaining document numbers, project records and document metadata. Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Proactive approach to following up on outstanding items and identifying next steps. Preferred Qualifications: Experience using electronic document management systems. Experience with McLaren, SharePoint, Bluebeam or similar applications. Experience supporting engineering, construction, energy or utilities environments is considered an asset.
