Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst - Guidewire PolicyCenter Position Type: Contract Industry Sector: Insurance - Property & Casualty (P&C) Duration: 6-12 month contract (potential for extension) Location: Greater Toronto Area - Markham, ON Work Model: Flexible Hybrid - Mainly remote with the occasional in-office visits Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement - B2B (Incorporated Entities Only) About the Opportunity Akkodis is partnering with a leading Canadian insurance organization to identify a Senior Business Systems Analyst with strong Guidewire PolicyCenter expertise. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced BSA who enjoys working with both business and technology, partnering closely with product owners, business stakeholders, developers, architects, and QA teams to deliver complex Guidewire initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, defining solution requirements, and supporting the delivery of enhancements across the insurance policy lifecycle. This includes quoting, underwriting, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and policy servicing. What You'll Be Doing Elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions across business and technology teams Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories Support Guidewire PolicyCenter enhancements and transformation initiatives Analyze impacts to business processes, integrations, data, and downstream applications Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and QA teams throughout delivery Participate in solution design discussions and requirements validation Support test planning, user acceptance testing, and production readiness activities Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and user experience Act as a trusted advisor between business stakeholders and delivery teams Required Expertise 7+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience Strong experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter Deep understanding of insurance policy administration processes Experience supporting policy lifecycle functions such as: Quoting, Underwriting, Policy issuance, Renewals, Endorsements, and Cancellations Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation skills Experience working within Agile delivery environments Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to work effectively across both business and technical teams Nice to Have Guidewire certification(s) Experience with Guidewire Cloud implementations Knowledge of Personal or Commercial Insurance products Experience with integrations, APIs, and enterprise application ecosystems Insurance digital transformation or modernization experience Ideal Background We are particularly interested in candidates who have operated as a Senior BSA, Guidewire BSA, Product Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Business Systems Consultant within insurance environments. The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis skills with hands-on Guidewire PolicyCenter experience and understands how policy administration platforms support the end-to-end customer lifecycle.
