About the Engagement Akkodis is partnering with a leading cloud consulting organization to identify a Senior / Principal Solutions Architect for a strategic Public Sector cloud advisory engagement. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Cloud Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Technology Consultant who enjoys assessing complex environments, engaging senior stakeholders, and developing strategic recommendations that influence executive decision-making. Unlike traditional architecture roles, this engagement is focused on assessment, advisory, and operating model design rather than hands-on implementation. The successful candidate will evaluate the client's current technical landscape, cloud operating model, governance framework, organizational structure, and cloud maturity, then provide a clear roadmap toward a secure, scalable, and sustainable future state. Working closely with technical teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders, you will play a key role in shaping the client's cloud strategy and transformation journey. Services to be Provided Review and assess the client's current cloud, infrastructure, application, and integration landscape Evaluate cloud operating models, governance structures, organizational design, and team capabilities Assess cloud readiness, risks, technical debt, dependencies, and transformation opportunities Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops across technical and business groups Benchmark current practices against leading cloud frameworks and operating models Develop current-state assessments, gap analyses, and future-state recommendations Design target operating model recommendations aligned to business and technology objectives Advise on cloud governance, security, compliance, and operational best practices Develop prioritized transformation roadmaps and actionable recommendations Prepare executive-ready reports, presentations, and strategic deliverables Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders Expertise Required Active Government of Canada Reliability Status Clearance (Mandatory) Minimum 10 years of progressive IT industry experience 5+ years in Solutions Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Advisory, Consulting, or Service Delivery leadership roles Demonstrated experience leading Cloud Strategy and Cloud Transformation initiatives Experience assessing and designing Cloud Operating Models and governance frameworks Strong background in Enterprise Architecture and technology strategy Extensive knowledge of cloud security, governance, compliance, and risk management Experience conducting current-state assessments and developing future-state roadmaps Ability to translate complex technical findings into clear business recommendations Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and workshop leadership skills Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication capabilities Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic discussions Additional Skills in Some of the Following Areas Would Be a Plus: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Oracle Fusion Cloud applications ERP transformation initiatives HR, Payroll, or Finance platform modernization programs Public Sector or Government transformation experience Knowledge of Government of Canada cloud guardrails and security requirements Familiarity with ITSG-33 and related security frameworks Cloud FinOps, Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE), and operating model design experience TOGAF certification AWS, Azure, OCI, or Google Cloud professional-level architecture certifications Ideal Background We are particularly interested in candidates who have operated as a Principal Architect, Enterprise Architect, Cloud Architect, Lead Solutions Architect, Cloud Strategist, or Technology Advisory Consultant. The ideal candidate has led cloud transformation assessments, operating model reviews, governance initiatives, and enterprise architecture engagements across complex enterprise environments. Candidates from consulting firms, cloud advisory practices, system integrators, or enterprise architecture functions will be highly regarded. Experience supporting Public Sector, Government, or other highly regulated organizations is strongly preferred. This role is best suited to someone who enjoys influencing strategy, conducting assessments, facilitating executive discussions, and developing practical recommendations rather than leading day-to-day technical implementation activities.
