Role Overview Reporting to the Senior Planner or Maintenance Planning & Reliability Superintendent, the Mobile Planner will review operator inspections, notifications, and defect reports as well as validate work requests and convert approved notifications into work orders. Key Responsibilities Work Order Management: Screen, scope, and determine planning requirements for incoming work orders. Job Scoping: Perform field walk-downs to identify hazards, estimate labor, and define requirements. Planning & Scheduling: Prepare detailed plans and participate in outage planning. Resource Management: Secure parts, tools, and equipment for timely availability. CMMS (SAP): Maintain plans, BOMs, and task lists; compile reports for continuous improvement. Reliability: Support improvement projects and analyze data for better asset performance. Coordination: Communicate expectations to internal teams and contractors; collaborate with reliability and procurement. Integrated Maintenance: Oversee surface mobile equipment and underground fixed assets, including hoists, crushing plants, ventilation systems, and compressors. Planning & Scheduling Develop validated weekly maintenance schedules for all mobile and fixed equipment using industry-standard methods. Ensure work orders are complete with labor, parts, materials, and tools to eliminate delays. Create job plans that extend equipment life and reduce costs through precision maintenance. Safety Leadership Incorporate clear safety protocols, including Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO), in all job plans. Report hazards promptly to prevent incidents. Attend daily line-up and monthly safety meetings to align with departmental goals. Productivity & Sustainability Streamline workflows so as to reduce non-productive time. Apply sustainable practices to minimize waste and optimize energy use. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications (Shaft Maintenance, Light Vehicle Maintenance, Six Sigma Green Belt) are assets. Minimum 5 years in skilled trades; 3–5 years in a similar role. Mechanical/electrical aptitude; supervisory experience preferred. Technical: Proficient in CMMS/EAM, SAP, Primavera, MS Project, Visio, and Microsoft 365. Functional: Budgeting, communication, technical research, and documentation.
