As an Electronics Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the safe, reliable operation of critical electronic and clinical systems that directly support patient care. Description: As an Electronics Technologist II, you will perform maintenance and repair duties on a variety of complex non-clinical electronic systems in accordance with manuals, specifications and AHS standards and practices. You will be responsible for complex non-clinical electronic systems and will exercise independence when completing daily responsibilities of the position. Transition Company: Health Shared Services Classification: Electronics Technologist II Union: AUPE GSS Unit and Program: Facilities Maintenance & Engineering Primary Location: Foothills Medical Centre Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 1.00 Posting End Date: 17-SEP-2026 Employee Class: Regular Full Time Date Available: 27-SEP-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Minimum Salary: $46.94 Maximum Salary: $50.67 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Certificate in one of the following trades: Electrician, Electronics Technician or Instrument Technician from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training; or completion of a two-year diploma of related technology (Electronic Technologist). Additional Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will have strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with electronic, electrical, control and low-voltage systems. The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals and equipment documentation is required, along with demonstrated experience using electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools. The candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize competing demands and respond effectively to equipment failures in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to work effectively with clinical staff, trades, contractors and vendors. A demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, infection prevention and control, and hospital policies and procedures is required. The successful candidate must also be able to participate in on-call, after-hours, weekend and emergency response requirements as required. A valid driver's license may be required depending on operational requirements. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in healthcare, hospital, industrial or other complex technical environment. Understanding of electronic systems & equipment used in critical operations. Experience with medical equipment, nurse call systems, building automation systems, security systems (AMAG), communication systems, Operating Tables, Medivators, other low-voltage & control systems. Experience working with medical, clinical, building automation, communication, security, other critical electronic systems.
