Chemistry Subject Matter Expert (AI Training) About The Role We're looking for chemistry experts to help train and evaluate the next generation of AI models. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs — and we need scientists like you to ensure these models reason accurately about chemistry. Your knowledge of advanced chemistry will directly shape how AI understands and solves complex scientific problems. No AI experience required — your domain expertise is what matters. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Design rigorous, advanced chemistry problems to test and challenge AI performance across domains such as chemical engineering, biochemistry, and organic chemistry Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with well-structured scientific reasoning Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, logical consistency, and depth of understanding Collaborate with researchers to refine and improve benchmarks spanning undergraduate through Master's-level chemistry topics Provide structured written feedback that helps AI systems reason better about science Who You Are Currently pursuing or holding a Master's degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field Strong problem-solving ability across advanced chemistry domains Able to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing Detail-oriented and comfortable working independently and asynchronously No prior AI or data annotation experience required Nice to Have Experience with data annotation, data quality review, or evaluation systems Familiarity with scientific benchmarking or academic research workflows Background spanning multiple chemistry subfields Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects with top-tier research labs Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule Freelance perks: high autonomy, variety, and global collaboration Directly influence how AI models understand and communicate science Potential for ongoing work and contract renewals
