Job Title: Security Guard - Floater Type: Floater/Casual Pay Rate: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour Shifts: Must be willing to travel to Peterborough & Port Hope Overview We are looking for Security Guard - Floater who is tasked with providing constant surveillance, protection, and a visible security presence within the client's site. This role typically involves standing for extended periods—often for 8 hours or more during a shift. Responsibilities Incident Reporting: Document and report incidents accurately, ensuring all relevant details are captured for future reference and analysis. Maintain a visible security presence: Staying stationed at a fixed location within the retail premises to deter theft, vandalism, or other suspicious activities. Threat Assessment: Evaluate situations to determine the level of risk and recommend appropriate responses. Professional Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication through email correspondence with team members and other stakeholders. Assist customers and staff: By providing directions, answering safety-related questions, and offering assistance as needed, without disrupting the flow of operations. Emergency Response: Act swiftly in emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of incidents, inspections, and other relevant documentation for compliance and review. Requirements 1-2 years of experience working in a security sector. Must have a valid Ontario Security License. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week. High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience. Familiarity with operating technology and wireless communication systems at client-specific sites.
