Our Ideal Candidate We are looking for a Civil Engineer with a diverse background in infrastructure and/or oil and gas to join our group in Calgary. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the team and plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of civil projects. A Day in the Life * Perform civil design for a variety of projects such as site development, grading plans, earthworks, drainage, roads and underground design * A strong background in water resources is an asset * Provide technical guidance to a team of EITs and designers to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications * Carry out estimates of project costs, analysis and calculations, design review, preparation of reports and contract documentation * Interface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations * Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards * Assist in creating a work plan that includes a schedule, milestones, control, and risk factors * Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues as they arise What You'll Bring to the Team * Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering * Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of Alberta * 10+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure and/or oil and gas * Experience in hydraulic analysis and design with modelling tools such as Infoworks, ICM, HEC-RAS, Mike Plus or similar modelling software would be considered an asset * Experience in materials testing (soils, concrete) and/or structural design and analysis is an asset * Strong project management, technical and analytical skills * Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals * Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills * Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; able to mentor and work with junior engineers and designers * Good organization skills and strong attention to detail What’s in it for you? Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and be a registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in Alberta. 5 to 10 years of experience in municipal infrastructure or oil and gas projects is required.
