Our Ideal Candidate Allnorth is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student for an 8-month co-op term to join our team in either our Nanaimo or Vancouver, BC office. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering student looking to gain hands-on experience within a multidisciplinary engineering consulting environment. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and designers while supporting real-world industrial and engineering projects. You’ll be exposed to different stages of project delivery and gain practical experience that builds on what you’ve learned in the classroom. A Day in the Life As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student, you will work closely with our mechanical engineering and project teams to support a variety of projects and assignments. Depending on project needs, your responsibilities may include: * Assisting Mechanical Engineers and Designers with engineering design and project deliverables * Supporting the preparation of calculations, technical documentation, reports and specifications * Assisting with equipment selection, layouts and other mechanical design activities * Supporting the development and review of drawings and engineering documentation * Gathering and organizing technical information and project data * Participating in project meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams * Assisting with field reviews, site visits and data collection as required * Supporting project coordination and other technical activities throughout various stages of project delivery * Applying engineering principles and classroom knowledge to practical, real-world project challenges Throughout your co-op term, you’ll receive guidance and mentorship from experienced professionals while gaining valuable exposure to the engineering consulting industry. What You’ll Bring to the Team Ideally, our Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student will bring: * Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree program at a recognized post-secondary institution * Eligibility to complete an 8-month co-op work term * Strong willingness to learn and contribute within a team environment * Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a professional environment * Interest in engineering consulting and industrial projects * Willingness to participate in site visits or field work as required * Valid driver's licence is considered an asset * Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test * Previous engineering, technical, construction or related experience is considered an asset, but is not required Only interested and qualified applicants will be contacted. Requirements

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree program and be eligible for an 8-month co-op term. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
