Job summary
Fire Alarm System Designer & Sales Specialist We Are Hiring for Careers, Not Just Jobs. Prince George offers the ultimate lifestyle upgrade: a place where attainable housing costs essentially give you a raise, and a fifteen-minute commute gives you your time back. You can trade a cramped condo for a detached home and still have the budget to enjoy the 1,600 lakes and rivers within an hour of your doorstep. We are the Sports Capital of BC, a community that rallies around the Cougars and shops at local farmers markets yet still offers the big-city convenience of Costco and Superstore. Your Base Camp for Northern Adventure At Allpoints Fire Protection, we have set the standard for the industry in the North. While Prince George is home, your office is the vast beauty of Northern BC. You will see clients from Haida Gwaii to the Alberta border, and 100 Mile House to the Yukon. You will experience a diversity of work that few other roles can offer, providing safety and peace of mind to everyone from local schools and hospitals to remote mines and mills. Culture & Growth We know that true excellence comes from how we treat each other. We foster an environment defined by equal acceptance, mutual respect, and the unshakable belief that we are stronger together. We operate as a single, cohesive unit: every single person, from the office to the field, plays a critical role in our collective success. We know that your growth is our growth; that is why we actively support your professional development with ongoing training and learning opportunities. This is a workplace where you are backed by a team that genuinely has your back, creating a space where you can speak up, share ideas, and do your best work without hesitation. What You Will Do This role bridges technical creativity with sales drive. Sitting at the heart of our office operations, you will lead our in-house sales initiatives and deliver custom fire alarm solutions for clients across Northern BC. In-House Sales Leadership: Drive new and existing opportunities from the office, serving as the first point of contact for clients seeking life safety solutions. You will turn incoming inquiries into comprehensive, tailored sales proposals. System Design: Propose custom fire alarm packages that balance technical accuracy, building codes, and budget parameters to deliver safety and peace of mind to our clients. Collaborative Estimating: Work closely with project management, field technicians, and supply vendors to ensure designs are accurate, cost-effective, and actionable for installation. Client & Technical Communication: Build strong client relationships through clear communication, helping customers understand technical options and closing sales with confidence. Who We Are Looking For We are seeking a sharp, tech-savvy sales professional who loves technical detail and problem-solving. You bring a great sales personality to the office everyday, combining strong interpersonal skills with a keen interest in how mechanical and electrical systems fit together. Sales Driven: You are a natural salesperson with a persuasive, engaging personality who enjoys connecting with clients, understanding their needs, and closing deals. Tech-Savvy & Smart: You love technology and picking up new software systems. You are comfortable diving into design platforms, technical specs, and digital sales tools. Detail-Oriented: You take pride in precision. Whether reviewing building layouts, system schematics, or estimating, your attention to detail ensures accuracy. Foundational Engineering Knowledge: You bring a foundational understanding or introductory experience in electrical or mechanical engineering. You don't need decades of field work, just enough technical aptitude to understand code requirements and system design. The Non-Negotiables: Proven sales experience or a strong track record in customer-facing roles. Introductory experience or education in electrical or mechanical engineering principles. Introductory experience in estimating and quoting. High proficiency with computers and software platforms. High School Diploma (or equivalent experience). Proficiency in English (verbal and written). Compensation Package: Investing in You We believe that if we take care of our people, they will take care of our clients. Our compensation package is designed to support your financial growth, your health, and your work-life balance. Financial Security & Growth Competitive Base + Incentives: Competitive compensation tailored to experience and performance. RRSP Contribution: We help build your future with company contributions to your RRSP (after 6 months of continuous employment). Health & Work-Life Balance Real Time Off: We know life happens. You receive 5 Paid Personal Days in addition to your two weeks’ vacation in the first year. Bank Your Time: We offer the ability to bank up to 80 hours for two additional weeks off. Save it up for hunting season, a long camping trip, or extended time with family. Flexible Scheduling: We offer flexible time off to help you manage life outside of work. Comprehensive Health: Access to Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability coverage (cost-shared program available after 3 months). Support Network: Access to our Employee Assistance Program and optional critical illness insurance. Fully Equipped & Supported Gear Provided: We supply logo apparel for the office and field. Culture & Development Never Stop Learning: Access to manufacturer and additional technical design training opportunities to keep you ahead of a changing industry. Team Connection: Join us for annual company functions and summer BBQ lunches and breakfasts. Thank You for Your Time We appreciate the time and effort invested in your application. While we review every submission carefully, only those selected for next steps will be contacted. Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion At Allpoints Fire Protection, we believe that we are stronger together. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where every employee feels safe, respected, and valued for who they are. We welcome and encourage applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, Indigenous status, physical ability, or background. We hire based on merit, character, and the ability to contribute to our team. If you require accommodation at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know. We are happy to work with you to meet your needs.
