Job Posting: Senior Solution Architect – Corporate Application sLocation: Toronto, ON (Hybrid — 4 Days Onsite, Monday–Thursday )Position Type: 12-Month Contract (Full-time hours, 37.5 hrs/week )Industry: Financial Services / Enterpris eAbout the Rol eAre you an Application-Focused Solution Architect who thrives on variety, loves tackling new business problems, and excels at driving technology decisions ?We are looking for a business-facing Solution Architect to join a collaborative, close-knit team supporting core Corporate Applications (including Finance, HR, Payroll, Legal, and Corporate Services) .In this role, you won’t spend years architecting the same single platform or getting stuck in technical silos. Instead, you will act as a broad technology generalist and the ultimate technical owner for a wide range of enterprise initiatives. You will bridge the gap between business stakeholders, internal engineering teams, and third-party SaaS vendors—determining what should be built, how it safely fits into our enterprise ecosystem, and how it aligns with architecture governance .What Makes This Role Exciting ?True Architecture Ownership: You own the technical direction, solution design, and architectural decisions, while delivery teams and external vendors focus on hands-on implementation .Massive Project Variety: One initiative might involve Payroll Modernization or a new SaaS HR integration, while the next might focus on Legal Technology, Finance Applications, or ServiceNow/Oracle platform enhancements .Strategic & Operational Impact: You will evaluate new vendor products, assess technical risks, design end-to-end data flows, and steer critical initiatives through enterprise architecture governance .Key Responsibilitie sSolution & Application Architecture: Personally own end-to-end application architectures from initial business problem framing and vendor evaluation to design, governance, and delivery oversight .Vendor & Integration Design: Evaluate third-party SaaS/vendor platforms and define safe, maintainable integrations across cloud, SaaS, hybrid, and on-premise environments .Architecture Deliverables: Create clear, high-quality architectural artifacts (target-state designs, integration flows, sequence diagrams, risk/trade-off assessments, and decision logs) .Governance & Alignment: Present architectures to Enterprise Architecture / Review Boards, ensuring alignment with security, identity, data, and infrastructure standards .Stakeholder Leadership: Serve as a clear, concise communicator who can articulate complex technical choices and trade-offs to non-technical business leaders and technical engineering teams alike .What We’re Looking Fo rMust-Have Qualifications :8+ years in Solution/Application Architecture within a large-scale enterprise environment .Core Application Background: Your primary background and recent focus must be in Application / Solution Architecture (rather than specialized Infrastructure, Security, Data, or Network Architecture) .Broad Technology Generalist: Proven ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies, evaluate third-party vendors, and architect solutions across diverse platforms rather than specializing in just one ecosystem .Hands-on Technical Foundations: Prior background in software development, technical lead roles, application support, or systems delivery (SDLC/Agile) .Credible Enterprise Cloud Exposure: Solid understanding of how enterprise applications interact across cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), SaaS, and hybrid setups .Exceptional Communication: A track record of clear, structured, and concise communication when presenting solutions and decisions to business stakeholders .Nice-to-Have / Preferred Experience :Architecture experience supporting corporate business functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Payroll, Procurement, ERP, or Corporate Services) .Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP) .Work Environment & Logistic sOnsite Expectation: Our client strongly values in-person collaboration to foster connected teams. This role requires 4 days per week in-person at the Toronto office (Monday through Thursday) .Interview Process: 2 rounds of in-person interviews in Toronto .
