More than a job: a mission As a Buyer in Etobicoke, ON, you will be at the heart of ensuring seamless procurement and supplier management for projects that connect communities and keep cities moving. Your work will directly impact the reliability and quality of rail systems relied upon every day. This position is based onsite, five days per week, with flexibility to travel between the Willowbrook (Etobicoke) and Whitby offices. Your role, Your impact * Lead supplier selection processes and deploy commodity strategies to support project goals. * Prepare and launch Requests for Quotations, ensuring optimal outcomes through effective negotiations. * Monitor procurement project quality, cost, delivery, and technical objectives (QCDT). * Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, and project management teams to align and deliver results. * Promote ethical conduct and uphold Alstom's Code of Ethics in all supplier interactions. You'll work with sharp, committed teams across engineering, operations, and design — solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility. As a Buyer, you will drive supplier performance and contribute to the successful execution of procurement projects. What you bring * Customer-centric mindset and ability to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions. * Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. * Experience in sourcing or procurement, ideally in manufacturing, automotive, or similar industries is highly desirable * Openness to change and courage in decision-making, adapting to evolving project needs. * Ability to build and engage high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. * Experience negotiating and managing contracts is highly desirable How success is measured * Achievement of QCDT targets and on-time delivery of procurement projects. * Effective coordination and alignment across cross-functional teams. * Adherence to ethical standards and organizational policies in supplier management. Compensation The expected compensation for this role is $75,000 to $85,000, based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
