Role: Staff Accountant II Job Summary: The Staff Accountant II is responsible for supporting the accounting team through general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, audit support, and month-end close activities. This role works closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with GAAP. This is a temporary, fixed-term position to cover an employee's maternity leave. Perform general ledger, bank, and intercompany reconciliations. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting. Support the preparation of financial statements and reporting packages. Monitor and reconcile inventory and equipment financing records. Assist with audits and compliance reporting. Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll functions as needed. Participate in process improvements and special projects. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP. Experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred. CPA designation (or progress toward certification) is an asset. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
