Position Summary Reporting to the Regional Manager, Commercial & Industrial Properties, the Commercial Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting Amacon’s commercial and industrial real estate portfolio. This role is designed for a 3rd or 4th year university student seeking a 4-month practical co-op or internship placement in property management, commercial real estate, business administration, or a related field. Position Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day administrative support for the Commercial Property Management team. Complete general office duties, including filing, scanning, correspondence, mail, and document organization. Support the organization and maintenance of tenant files, lease records, service contracts, insurance certificates, FOB records, and other property information. Assist with entering and updating information in Yardi and other internal systems. Help monitor accounts receivable reports and prepare follow-up information for manager review. Assist with purchase orders, invoice processing, and related documentation. Respond to tenant and vendor inquiries. Other duties as assigned. Experience & Requirements Education: Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a university degree program, preferably in business, commerce, real estate, urban land economics, accounting, or a related discipline. Experience: Previous office, administrative, customer service, accounting, or volunteer experience is considered an asset, but not required. Interest in commercial real estate, property management, development, accounting, or business operations. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences. Ability to build and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal teams, tenants, vendors, contractors, and other external contacts. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a changing environment. Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to confidentiality, accuracy, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Detail-oriented and analytical, with a focus on producing accurate, high-quality work. Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with Yardi or other property management/accounting software is an asset but not required.
