We transform fresh, local milk into high-quality dairy products, including milk, cheese, cream, butter, and canned milk, serving both our own brands and valued partner labels across PEI and beyond. The Opportunity This is an opportunity to take on a broad, hands-on leadership role in coordinating key supply chain functions that directly support production requirements, customer service objectives, and cost management initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of warehousing, procurement, inventory control, transportation, and logistics activities across the organization. Working closely with production, sales, finance, quality assurance, and distribution teams, the Supply Chain Manager will help strengthen alignment across the supply chain, identify opportunities for improvement, and support reliable, efficient operations. Key Responsibilities: Supply Chain Leadership * Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with organizational objectives. * Lead procurement, warehousing, inventory control, and transportation functions. * Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory, service levels, transportation costs, and supplier performance. * Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency, and cost reduction Transportation & Logistics * Manage inbound and outbound transportation activities. * Coordinate third-party carriers and logistics providers. * Optimize distribution routes, freight utilization, and transportation efficiency. * Monitor transportation performance and freight costs. * Ensure compliance with food safety, transportation, and applicable regulatory requirements. Inventory & Warehouse Management * Oversee inventory management practices across multiple facilities. * Monitor inventory levels to balance service requirements with working capital objectives. * Ensure accurate inventory records and effective cycle counting procedures. * Lead warehouse operations, storage optimization, and material handling practices. Procurement & Supplier Management * Manage the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, supplies, and services. * Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and service agreements. * Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance. * Support continuity of supply and minimize supply chain risks. Operational Collaboration * Work closely with production teams to support manufacturing schedules. * Coordinate supply planning with sales forecasts and customer demand. * Support new product launches and capacity planning initiatives. * Participate in budgeting and operational planning activities. Leadership & Team Development * Lead, coach, and develop warehouse, logistics, and procurement personnel. * Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. * Conduct performance management, employee development, and succession planning. Qualifications Education & Experience * Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field. * Professional designation such as SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) is considered an asset. * Considerable progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or operations. * Experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, consumer packaged goods, or distribution environments is preferred. * Multi-site supply chain or operational experience is considered an asset. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Strong understanding of warehousing, procurement, inventory control, transportation, and logistics operations. * Experience negotiating supplier contracts, freight agreements, pricing, and service arrangements. * Strong working knowledge of ERP and inventory management systems. * Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills. * Strong leadership and team-development abilities. * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. * Strong financial awareness and cost management skills. * Knowledge of food manufacturing, food safety, transportation, and supply chain compliance requirements.
