Our team is looking for Software Development Engineers who love listening to our customers, working as a team, and building large scalable systems. This is an opportunity to build and improve systems that will help Fulfillment Centers (FCs i.e. Amazon Warehouses) and other building types around the world to operate efficiently by providing information and insights to FC operators and software services which rely on real time information for planning and staffing. These systems provide aggregate data and help build an end-to-end picture of FC state to help users make key decisions to improve efficiency and staff optimally. These decisions impact delivery of packages to Amazon customers. Your work will directly influence Amazon business and customer promise. As a member of this team, you will get the opportunity to work on highly visible, innovative projects that directly impact the customer experience. You will be involved in all the aspects of the software development cycle including scoping, design, implementation, testing & delivery of your product. The position has great opportunity for growth. Key job responsibilities In this position you will partner with product managers, software engineers, user experience designers and other teams. A successful candidate will have an established background with strong technical ability, bar raising engineering skills, great communication skills and motivation to achieve results for your customers. In this role you will both code and mentor junior engineers committing code to the program. About the team Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it. Workforce Optimization AFT’s Workforce Optimization team delivers innovative platforms and products to automate labor management and staffing decisions across processes and functions at Amazon’s global fulfillment network locations. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
