Job summary
Expression of Interest – Geologists (Underground & Open Pit) | North America We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced underground and open pit geologists interested in consulting opportunities across a range of mining operations throughout North America. These roles offer exposure to diverse commodities, projects and operating environments, including providing technical support to clients across production, resource estimation and continuous improvement initiatives with a well-established company with a 15 year history. Key responsibilities may include: Promote and support safe work practices, ensuring compliance with site safety standards, procedures and regulatory requirements. Provide technical leadership, supervision and mentoring to geology teams and contractors in relation to daily mining and drilling activities. Collaborate closely with Mining, Metallurgy, Planning and Operational teams to optimise production outcomes and support achievement of mine plans. Communicate geological risks, opportunities and technical findings to site leadership and stakeholders in a timely and practical manner. Deliver accurate and timely geological reporting, including production reconciliation, grade control performance and feed-grade forecasting. Identify, develop and implement initiatives aimed at improving geological processes, workflows and team performance. Interpret, validate and review geological models to support operational and strategic decision-making. Support grade control and stockpile management practices to optimise mill performance and ore utilisation. Develop and oversee drilling programs to meet operational requirements while maintaining budget and productivity targets. Drive continuous improvement across geological systems, procedures and data management practices. Contribute specialist geological expertise across operational support, studies, projects and consulting engagements as required. Skills & Experience: 2+ years of experience working within underground and/or open pit mining operations (Essential) Demonstrated expertise in mine / production geology (Essential) Experience with geological modelling and mining software (Leapfrog, Datamine, Vulcan, Deswik, Surpac or similar). Strong understanding of drilling programs, reconciliation and geological reporting. Ability to adapt to varying sites, commodities and client environments. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Willingness to travel and undertake site-based assignments across North America as required. Previous consulting experience advantageous but not essential.
