(ASD-W) Casual Educational Assistant - Woodstock Education Centre Area

This is a job posting for Casual Educational Assistants (CUPE 2745 position) with Anglophone West School District. Whereas the nature of a Casual Educational Assistant position requires timely deployment to work on short-notice, it is expected that those named to our casual list will live within ASD-W boundaries and a reasonable proximity to selected schools. REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school, supplemented by completion of a minimum 1 year training course related to the field of work (ie: Educational Support, Early Childhood Education, child/youth/family services, etc) AND Experience or demonstrated ability in working with children. **Specific training required by the employer to address the special needs of students may also be necessary. Educational Assistants provide individualized support to learners under the guidance of educators to promote independence. They are actively involved in implementing and monitoring programs designed to meet the needs of students with diverse abilities.

Candidates must have a high school diploma supplemented by at least one year of training in a related field such as educational support or early childhood education. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to work with children and provide a recent criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check.
