Role:- Tech Lead / Senior Software Architect (Embedded C/C++ Systems) Location:- Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue & Kirkland, Quebec, CAN (Hybrid: 1 4 days per week onsite) Language:- French and English required Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Architect / Tech Lead with 15+ years of experience in C/C++ software development and architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded systems, RTOS, software architecture, and technical leadership. This role supports major R&D and greenfield technology projects involving critical embedded software for aerospace and satellite applications, including Flight Control systems. The architect will work closely with system engineering, software development, integration, and QA teams to translate complex system requirements into robust software architectures. Key Responsibilities Define software requirements, architecture, and design for complex embedded systems. Lead technical decisions and provide hands-on guidance to development teams. Develop, integrate, test, and maintain embedded flight software using C/C++. Support software integration, validation, debugging, and laboratory testing. Prepare formal technical documentation and software design specifications. Participate in Agile development, PI Planning, and technical work-package planning. Collaborate with system, digital, RF, development, and QA teams. Support CI/CD, software automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Interact with clients and support estimation of new projects. Mentor developers and provide technical coaching and feedback. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. 15+ years of embedded software development and/or software architecture experience. Advanced C and C++ programming skills, including C++17. Strong experience with embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS). Experience translating complex system requirements into software architecture. Strong technical documentation and communication skills. Technical leadership experience in an Agile environment. Experience with software integration, validation, and complex troubleshooting. Experience with CI/CD and Git. Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities. Bilingual in French and English. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or avionics industry experience. Direct experience with Flight Control software. Critical embedded software development. Python for automation, testing, or development tools. R&D or greenfield product development experience. Embedded Linux. Satellite communication standards such as DVB-S2X and CCSDS. RF systems and protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, CAN Bus, and SpaceWire. Visual Studio, Eclipse, JIRA, and Confluence. VectorCAST or formal software development processes involving requirements, design, and testing.
