Job summary

Position Overview Apex Industries is currently recruiting a Machine Operator to join our Steel Door Manufacturing Group for the Evening shift. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Production Supervisor. The primary role of this position is to set up and operate CNC press brakes as well as other responsibilities relating to the production schedule. Responsibilities * Setup and operate machines (CNC press brakes) * Perform routine maintenance on equipment * Gathering, sheering and tagging required materials * Loading and unloading steel sheets * Recognize and communicate areas to improve, to the lead-hand * Maintain a safe and clean work environment * Understand and effectively carry out oral and written instruction * Able to read manual and digital measuring tools (tape measure, caliper) Requirements * High School Diploma, GED, technical school training or equivalent combination of education and experience * Experience working with CNC press brake is required. * Ability to read and interpret technical information (blueprints, specs, drawings) * Demonstrate ability to function in a team-based work environment * Ability to learn new technics quickly and apply it to the job * Demonstrate strong communication skills * Self-motivated with the willingness to stick to tasks that may be repetitive in nature * Strong attention to detail * Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision * Ability to multi-task in a fast past environment What we offer APEX offers a supportive work environment, opportunities for learning and development, and a range of employee benefits, including a CSA-approved steel toe boot reimbursement program for employees in eligible roles.
