Job#: 3045544 Job Description: French Translation Specialist Location: Toronto, Ontario (Partial Remote) Role Overview We are seeking a French Localization Specialist to deliver high-quality Canadian French translations and localized content. This role involves collaborating with various business teams to facilitate the delivery of error-free French experiences. The position requires ensuring that all translated content is accurate, culturally relevant, compliant, and aligned with brand standards. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality French translations and localization of English content, collaborating with the process team and external language service providers when required. Revise French content to ensure consistency with editorial guidelines, brand standards, and guidance from legal and compliance. Review French experiences to ensure alignment with the English intent and enterprise-level requirements. Utilize Trados Enterprise, a cloud-based Translation Management System (TMS), for managing localization work. *Advocate internally for localization best practices and educate stakeholders on the value of French content quality. Collaborate with business partners to gather and integrate feedback, resolving inconsistencies and addressing stakeholder concerns. Maintain an understanding of all products, marketing language, legal disclosures, and various types of enterprise content. Serve as the final approver for deliverables and conduct a last review of the finished product. Required Qualifications 4+ years of experience in localization/translation. Excellent localization, translation, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong command of Canadian French. *Understanding of cultural nuances and regional variations within French-speaking Canada.*Strong technical acumen, including proficiency with TMSs (preferably Trados Enterprise) and machine translation tools.*Knowledge of Adobe Workfront, Taxi, and generative AI technology like Google Gemini. Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Ability to proactively identify and flag potential issues to management. Preferred Qualifications A degree/diploma in localization/translation, linguistics, communications, or a related field. Experience localizing content in a regulated or financial sector. Experience localizing internal communications, platforms, systems, and digital messaging for customers. Familiarity with style guides, glossaries, terminology management, and end-to-end video localization workflows. Experience with Localization Quality Assurance (LQA) and linguistic testing. Experience with content management systems. Experience working with legal and compliance teams. Experience working in a sprint model.
