Job#: 3045662 Job Description: Summary: We are in search of an experienced Senior Database Administrator & Data Modeler to spearhead a critical new development project involving the rewrite of a legacy system for a prominent financial client. This role demands expertise in analyzing existing databases, deciphering complex logic, and crafting new, performance-driven data models aligned with evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the creation of robust, auditable, and compliant data controls within the system. Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth analysis of the existing database architecture, decipher complex logic, and understand legacy data models. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to elicit, understand, and translate evolving business requirements into effective and scalable database solutions. Design and create new data models aligned with iterative business needs, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to best practices. Lead the development of database schemas, tables, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity, performance, and auditability. Implement rigorous data controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal security policies. Work iteratively, adapting, and refining data models based on evolving business requirements throughout the development lifecycle. Provide mentorship and guidance to the development team, ensuring alignment with best data modeling practices. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, utilizing tools like Jira, Confluence, and Gliffy for documentation and workflows. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. 8-10 years of extensive experience in SQL Server DBA, data modeling, and management, focusing on large-scale development projects, particularly in financial environments. Expertise in: Data migration, ETL (Extract Transform Load), and integration services, including SSIS. Reporting services like SSRS and Tableau for visualization/report creation. Data analysis, data quality, and proficient data modeling. Test automation tools and techniques for SQL databases. Microsoft Full Stack technologies: .NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, and Web API. Control-M is a plus. Proven record of accomplishment in: Designing and implementing high-performance, auditable data models aligned with evolving business needs. Understanding and implementing data controls, regulatory compliance, and security measures in financial systems. Advantageous: Familiarity with cloud databases and full-stack technologies (such as .NET, C#). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and proactive communication skills, coupled with a collaborative approach. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
