We are seeking a technically strong and client-focused Tax Manager focused on Individual Tax. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a consultative environment, combining deep tax expertise with a strategic mindset to support individuals, simple trusts, and closely held businesses. The ideal candidate will be passionate about tax planning, financial consulting, and building long-term client relationships. \n Responsibilities: Tax Review & Compliance: * Review complex individual tax returns (Form 1040), simple trusts (Form 1041), and simple business returns (Forms 1065, 1120S). * Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state tax laws. * Supervise and mentor staff preparing returns, providing technical guidance and quality control. Client Planning & Consulting: * Lead tax planning engagements for individuals and small business owners. * Advise clients on financial planning strategies, including asset protection, succession planning, and retirement optimization. * Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to deliver holistic solutions. Engagement Management: * Manage multiple client relationships and engagements simultaneously. * Monitor deadlines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and efficient service. * Participate in business development efforts and identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients. Leadership & Development * Serve as a role model and coach for junior staff. * Contribute to internal training and development initiatives. * Support the evolution of the 1040 Transformation Project and related strategic initiatives. Qualifications: * CPA preferred; EA considered. * CFP certification or willingness to obtain CFP preferred * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. * Minimum 5 years of experience in individual tax, trusts, and small business returns. * Proven track record in client consulting and tax planning. * Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with clients. * Proficiency in tax software and technology platforms. \n $98,500 - $164,000 a year The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. \n The application window is anticipated to close on August 1, 2026, and may be extended as needed.
