What You Will Do Interaction Design Strategy Drive user comprehension and optimize task performance by expertly leveraging user interface patterns and behaviors. Support analytical thinking within large, complex data sets through the creation of innovative visualizations and interactions. Lead and facilitate design critiques, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and guide collaborative ideation sessions and workshops. Serve as the interaction design subject-matter expert, providing invaluable guidance to cross-functional partners. Interaction Artifact Creation Apply a deep understanding of interaction design theory, research data, and industry best practices to inform and justify design decisions. Design high-complexity artifacts that clearly communicate task flows, touchpoints, user behaviors, and information exchange. Create a range of design deliverables, from low-fidelity sketches to highly complex, interactive prototypes, to explore, validate, and specify designs for development. Confidently present interaction design concepts and strategies to senior leadership, articulating vision and rationale. Research, Testing & Auditing Initiate and actively participate in user research activities, and facilitate usability testing to validate design directions and gather insights. Research interaction design strategies within the financial services sector and perform competitive audits aligned with specific business goals. Conduct comprehensive pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits to ensure the health and consistency of the product ecosystem. Must-Have Qualifications What You Need to Succeed BA/BS degree in Design (Interaction, Graphic, Visual Communications, Product, Industrial), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). A minimum of 5 years of experience designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms. Proven experience in an applied research setting, with a track record of successfully integrating user insights into final product designs. Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, with the ability to clearly weigh benefits against risks. Mastery of modern design, prototyping, and research tools (e.g., Figma, Mural, UserTesting.com). Nice-to-Have Qualifications An MA/MS degree or specialized certification in a related design or HCI field. A sophisticated understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of various research methods, knowing exactly when and how to apply them throughout the product lifecycle. A strong appreciation for and mastery of Design Thinking methodologies. Prior experience navigating large enterprise organizations within an Agile framework.
