Role description: Arcadis is seeking an Air Quality, Noise and Vibration Engineer Intern/Co-op to join our Air Quality and Noise and Vibration team in Waterloo, ON for a 4- or 8-month co-op beginning in January 2027. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience supporting wider technical teams on a variety of projects, including rail & transit, industry, residential development, roadways, and renewable energy. As an Air Quality, Noise and Vibration Engineer Intern/Co-op, you will work alongside experienced consultants and multidisciplinary project teams to support project work across Ontario. You will contribute to field data collection, data analysis, modelling, technical reporting, and internal tool development while gaining exposure to real-world engineering and environmental projects. Role Accountabilities In this role, you will support the team by: * Support noise assessment projects for rail and transit, industry, residential development, roadways, and renewable energy. * Conduct field data collection and acoustic measurements at project sites and monitoring locations. * Assist with data analysis, modelling, and interpretation of environmental datasets. * Prepare technical reports, summaries, and project documentation under the guidance of senior team members. * Support the development and improvement of internal tools, databases, and workflows, including Python-based solutions. * Collaborate with engineers, planners, environmental professionals, and other multidisciplinary project teams. Candidates should have an interest in acoustics, engineering, environmental consulting, or data analysis, along with strong organizational, communication, and technical writing skills. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment. This position requires regular attendance in the Waterloo office (minimum 4 days/week), a willingness to conduct fieldwork at project sites, and the ability to travel as needed. A valid driver's license is required. Required Qualifications * Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Preferred Qualifications * Experience with programming, preferably Python. * Experience using AutoCAD or similar design and drafting software. * Experience with 3D modelling software and workflows. * Previous fieldwork experience, including data collection, measurements, or work on construction or infrastructure sites. * Experience using GIS software or spatial data analysis tools. Requirements
