Senior Salesforce Developer – Insurance / Financial Services Cloud Location: Toronto, ON Work Model: Onsite – 4 Days per Week Interview: Face-to-Face Interview May Be Required Employment Type: Contract Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to join an active enterprise Insurance platform team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, Financial Services Cloud (FSC), integrations, and CI/CD. This role requires a highly independent developer who can quickly understand an existing Salesforce environment, deliver complex development work, contribute to technical design decisions, and collaborate effectively within an Agile/Scrum team. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, LWC, SLDS, SOQL, and Flows. Develop solutions on Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) supporting Insurance business processes. Design and maintain integrations with enterprise applications using REST/SOAP APIs and Platform Events. Implement robust integration patterns including idempotency, error handling, and exception management. Develop meaningful unit tests and ensure solutions meet quality and maintainability standards. Work with established CI/CD pipelines using SFDX, Git, and Flosum. Participate in technical design sessions and contribute to solution and architectural decisions. Conduct code reviews and provide actionable technical feedback to development team members. Collaborate with Quality Engineering (QE) teams to define test scenarios and troubleshoot defects. Support production issue triage and resolution when required. Work across Insurance-related capabilities including policy lifecycle, claims, producer/broker management, and client relationships. Follow Salesforce security best practices, including FLS, CRUD, sharing rules, and least-privilege access. Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards, processes, and code quality. Required Qualifications Salesforce Development 6+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience. Strong expertise in: Apex Lightning Web Components (LWC) Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) SOQL Salesforce Flows Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits and bulkification patterns. Hands-on experience with Financial Services Cloud (FSC) and its data model, including: Accounts Financial Accounts Policies Relationships Strong experience developing Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP callouts and Platform Events. Knowledge of Headless Agents, Agentforce, and Salesforce MCP. Strong understanding of Salesforce security concepts including CRUD/FLS, sharing rules, and least-privilege access. DevOps & CI/CD Experience with SFDX and Git. Hands-on experience with at least one Salesforce deployment/DevOps platform: Flosum Copado Gearset Experience working within established CI/CD pipelines and release management processes. Agile Delivery Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Comfortable participating in: Daily stand-ups Sprint planning Backlog refinement Story estimation Code reviews Technical design discussions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and quickly become productive in an existing environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to identify blockers early, provide realistic estimates, and document technical decisions. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with Salesforce OmniStudio, including: FlexCards DataRaptors Integration Procedures Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud / Communities. Experience with MuleSoft or other middleware integration patterns. Salesforce certifications such as: Platform Developer II Financial Services Cloud Accredited Professional Application Architect Strong Insurance domain experience, particularly: Policy lifecycle Claims processing Broker/producer management Client relationship management Experience using Generative AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or Claude. Full-stack development exposure with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, or .NET. Ability to collaborate effectively with integration and backend development teams.
