Position Overview:Armour Transportation Systems is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Yard Maintenance & Snow Removal Technician to support full-time, year-round facility operations at our Dartmouth terminal. This role helps keep walkways, parking areas, equipment, trailers, tractors, shop areas, and yard spaces clean, organized, and safe. During the winter months, the role focuses on snow and ice removal using shovels, snowblowers, plow trucks, and other equipment. From spring through fall, responsibilities include grounds care, pressure washing, and general shop and yard maintenance. The ideal candidate is physically capable, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced transportation environment. Location: Dartmouth, NS Summer Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8am – 5pm Winter Schedule: Flexible hours required based on weather conditions. As part of our team, you will: Snow Removal – Winter Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas within our secured trucking facility using shovels, snowblowers, and plow trucks. Apply salt, sand, or de-icing materials as required. Respond to snowfall events promptly, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Operate snow removal equipment, including front-end loaders, skid steers, and a 4x4 half-ton truck with plow and sander. Grounds and Shop Maintenance – Spring to Fall Assist the shop team with basic maintenance work, including cleaning and organizing tools. Perform lawn care and maintain general cleanliness of the yard and surrounding areas. Operate a high-powered pressure washer for extended periods to clean 53-foot dry van trailers and highway tractors in the Dartmouth yard. Perform high-quality cleaning services using a mobile unit mounted on a pickup truck. Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in proper working condition. What You Bring: One year of relevant experience preferred; training is available. Physically able to perform 8–10 hour workdays with strong stamina. Must have own steel-toe work boots. Excellent observation skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to follow safe work procedures. Team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
