You'll be part of an agile and dynamic workplace where today's solutions are built for tomorrow's challenges. The Test Engineer plays a pivotal role in verifying the performance of our pump products. You will be responsible for providing all the necessary information, prototype assembly, laboratory testing, and record keeping. You will support in determining equipment performance, generating and collecting accurate data for engineering teams, and tracking any and all malfunctioning equipment. This position is based out our head office in Scarborough, Ontario. ln addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are: Testing Setting up and conducting tests of complete units or components under operating conditions to investigate the improvement of performance or to obtain data for development, standardization, or quality control. Working from wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions, either verbally or in writing as it pertains to test-loop setup and test-specimen performance schedules. Working closely with machine shop or machine shop vendors when making alterations to test specimens or test equipment components. Responsible for keeping the pump test stand, engineering testing area, and instruments in good condition. Keeping instruments calibrated according to the calibration schedule and updating copies of calibration reports. Verifying pump performance on in-house orders. Evaluating and giving re-work instructions to the worker, as necessary Maintaining and installing temperature, pressure, voltage, current, and power measurement devices and their associated instrumentation. Informing group leader or supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment conditions and any corrective actions to be taken. Examining component parts for conformance with dimensional specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Collaborating with engineering development products as a tester by participating in and executing a development test plan. Assistance & Reporting Assisting with equipment material test studies. Performing necessary data manipulations utilizing computers. Performing a;; necessary inspection operations. Reporting all problems to supervisor. Adhering to all required health & safety policies and procedures Assisting line inspectors with serious quality problems, as necessary All other duties as may be assigned What We’re Looking For: To thrive in this role, you should bring: Technical degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 1-2 years of experience working with hydronic pumps and system testing Machine Shop or Product Assembly experience in pump-related industries Basic electrical wiring knowledge Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Ability to use the required measuring equipment Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and AutoCAD Ability to break down problems in a simplified way, conduct root-cause analyses, and provide clear recommendations Strong interpersonal skills Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
