Job summary
Mechanical Assembler Job Type: Full-Time Location: Milton, ON Pay Rate: $21/hour to $25/hour Training & Schedule Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Position Overview We are looking for a Mechanical Assembler to mechanically assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts, components, sub-assemblies, and structures using hand and power tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for following manufacturing documents and engineering drawings while ensuring all products meet quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Act as an assembly project lead on low- to moderate-complexity projects. Direct and support MO2 assemblers while maintaining quality and accountability. Read and interpret engineering drawings and Oracle Bills of Materials. Use 3D model viewing software and Microsoft Office for daily tasks and communication. Check picked and delivered parts against required components and resolve discrepancies with the supervisor. Report drawing or assembly concerns through the appropriate channels. Repair or modify errors identified during testing or inspection. Follow applicable CSA and UL codes and safety requirements. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal KANBAN process. Apply consistent assembly methods across units within the same order. Perform visual inspections before and after assembly to ensure products meet drawings and specifications. Make necessary mechanical adjustments to ensure proper fit, function, and appearance. Clean completed units and prepare them for testing. Check the performance of completed components and make adjustments when required. Perform packing and shipping duties. Use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools, and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair products. Support other departments as required. Requirements Minimum 2 years of mechanical assembly experience using power tools. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and up to 50 lbs with assistance, using proper lifting techniques. Previous experience assembling or repairing products. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Oracle functions. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools is an asset. Ability to train and support other team members effectively. Strong attention to detail and consistent focus on quality. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving, mathematical, computer, and troubleshooting skills. Ability and willingness to support other departments when required.
