Position Summary The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a solid understanding of machine operation, attention to detail, and the ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal machine performance. Compensation Range: $22.50 up to $29.27 hourly Shift Schedule: Candidate must be available to work on a rotating shift (Days - 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Afternoon - 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm, Night - 11:00 pm - 7:00 am from Sunday to Friday) Primary Responsibilities: * Machine Operation * Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, turning, and cutting based on production requirements. * Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into and out of the machine. * Start and stop machine operation as required to complete production runs. Monitoring and Quality Control * Monitor the machine’s performance during operation to ensure consistent and accurate production. * Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. * Identify and report any deviations from specifications or quality issues to the supervisor. Routine Maintenance and Troubleshooting * Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting the machines to ensure they operate efficiently. * Detect and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and make adjustments or repairs as needed. * Collaborate with maintenance personnel for more complex repairs and preventive maintenance activities. Documentation and Reporting * Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and any issues encountered during operation. * Complete production logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation. * Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and any operational concerns. Safety and Compliance * Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. * Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the task at hand. * Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately. Required Skills & Expertise: Education and Experience * High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in CNC machining is a plus. * Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC operator or in a related field. Technical Skills * Basic understanding of CNC machine operation and programming. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions. * Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and instruments, such as micrometers, verniers, callipers, height gauges or other specialized measuring instruments. * GD&T knowledge Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills * Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. * Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve minor mechanical issues. Physical Requirements * Ability to lift and move materials and tools (up to 50 lbs). * Comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks. Communication and Teamwork * Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
