Job summary
We are seeking a Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of innovative residential energy products, including EV chargers, battery systems, solar inverters, and smart home technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with internship experience looking to gain hands-on lab experience. Responsibilities Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation activities. Review product requirements and translate them into test requirements. Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. Identify, document, and support resolution of hardware and firmware issues. Assist with test bench development, maintenance, and automation. Report testing progress, coverage, and results to stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering degree/diploma from BCIT. New graduates and candidates with internships are encouraged to apply. 1–3 years of testing, validation, or electrical engineering experience is an asset. Knowledge of electrical hardware/firmware testing and troubleshooting. Experience with electrical test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, grid emulators, etc.) preferred. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or JAMA is an asset. Knowledge of C++ is preferred but not required. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Additional Information 100% on-site laboratory role. Structured buddy/mentorship system provided for training and support. Approximately 10% travel may be required.
What you’ll do
The Test Engineer will develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation activities for residential energy products. They will also identify and document hardware and firmware issues while reporting testing progress to stakeholders.
Requirements
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with new graduates and those with internship experience encouraged to apply. Knowledge of electrical hardware/firmware testing and experience with electrical test equipment are preferred.
