Payroll Administration – Canada & U.S. • Execute bi‑weekly payroll for Canadian and U.S. employees, including hourly, salaried, and management staff, using Ceridian Dayforce. • Audit electronic timecards and imported hours to ensure accurate calculations of overtime, statutory/holiday pay, shift premiums, and job costing in accordance with Canadian provincial, U.S. federal, and state regulations. • Maintain and update all payroll‑related data in Dayforce, ensuring accuracy of tax setups, earnings codes, deductions, benefits, and costing. • Manage the timely remittance of Canadian (CRA, provincial) and U.S. (IRS, state) taxes, statutory deductions, garnishments, WCB/Workers’ Compensation reporting, and employer-paid contributions. • Coordinate and support year-end processes including Canadian T4/T4A and U.S. W‑2/W‑3 preparation and distribution. • Prepare payroll journal entries, costing reports, and labour distribution summaries to support the accounting function. Benefits & Pension Administration – Canada & U.S. • Administer all Canadian and U.S. group benefit programs, including enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events, and coverage updates through Dayforce. • Act as the primary liaison with benefit carriers, pension/retirement plan providers, and third-party administrators to resolve eligibility, billing, and claims concerns. • Conduct monthly audits of benefit invoices and payroll deductions across both countries; investigate and correct discrepancies. • Assist with annual benefits renewals, plan changes, and employee communication. Personnel Records & Compliance • Maintain secure, complete, and accurate electronic employee files in Dayforce, including tax forms, banking information, and employment agreements for both Canadian and U.S. employees. • Monitor changes to employment, payroll, and tax legislation across all operating jurisdictions (Canadian provincial and federal; U.S. state and federal). • Support onboarding of new hires by ensuring all Dayforce setup, payroll enrollment, and benefits administration is completed accurately and on time.
