The successful candidate will be suited working independently and as part of a larger team to repair and modify heavy haul trailers. They will have a keen eye for detail, perform work to the pinnacle quality of industry standards, complete jobs on time and on target, and minimize wastes in day-to-day operations. Primary Responsibilities Maintain, repair and overhaul heavy haul trailers. Troubleshoot systems and estimate repairs. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems. Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections; keeps equipment cleaned, lubricated and maintained. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets the manufacturer’s specifications. Maintain shop tools and work area. Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams. Quality assurance and control. Ensures effective equipment maintenance, safety and housekeeping standards are maintained. Build and maintain a healthy and safe work environment. Overhead crane operation. Must be able to work in awkward positions. Candidates must be at least a 2nd-year apprentice or a Journeyman Trailer Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician. Possession of a CVIP license is considered an asset, and the role requires physical fitness to perform tasks like lifting and working in awkward positions.
