Job Title: Senior Corporate Accountant Location: Waterloo, ON (Hybrid) Contract Duration: (6 months from start date) Key Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, with a focus on payroll/employee-related accounts. Perform detailed account reconciliations (GL, bank, intercompany) and investigate discrepancies. Conduct financial statement analysis and provide insights on variances or trends. Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy. Assist with ad-hoc projects, audits, or system implementations as needed. Top Skills & Qualifications: 5-8 years of related experience with solid US GAAP/ accounting knowledge. Strong proficiency in journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations (ability to drill into details). Experience with financial statement analysis and reporting. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent organizational skills with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is a plus. Work Environment: Hybrid model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). Dynamic team with opportunities to contribute to process improvements.
