[https://dmscdn.successfactors.com/27c0a91770d9ecac9ed08a9f63f401a6121aa728d77960676d754d492bcae147/static_content/8761288a654040abb2af/jobad1.png] POSITION SUMMARY The Outside Technical Sales Representative / Account Manager is responsible for growing Record Canada's indirect business by managing and expanding relationships with Wholesale, Contract Hardware, and/or Automatic Door Distributor customers across Canada. Reporting to and partnering closely with the General Manager, this role combines hands-on account management and new business development with deep technical product expertise, serving as the face of Record Canada in the field while ensuring customers receive knowledgeable, responsive support throughout the sales cycle. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT * Own, manage, and grow a portfolio of Wholesale, Contract Hardware, and/or Automatic Door Distributor accounts across Canada * Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the indirect channel to expand Record Canada's market presence * Develop and execute account plans and growth strategies in partnership with the General Manager * Conduct regular in-person customer visits, business reviews, and joint sales calls to strengthen relationships and drive revenue * Represent Record Canada at trade shows, industry events, and customer functions * Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecast, and customer activity records in the CRM TECHNICAL SALES * Provide product expertise and technical guidance to customers and internal sales teams * Support the preparation and management of custom orders and specifications * Develop pricing strategies, quotations, and margin optimization in collaboration with the General Manager * Serve as a subject matter expert on Record Canada product offerings and solutions * Provide on-site customer support as needed, including troubleshooting and application guidance TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT * Coordinate and deliver product training for customers and internal teams, both in the field and virtually * Support and facilitate AAADM-related training and certification initiatives * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, codes, and product applications SALES OPERATIONS & COLLABORATION * Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and sales inquiries within assigned accounts * Lead customer onboarding and build strong familiarity with the customer base * Support customer adoption of digital tools, including the Record Canada webshop * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Customer Service, Operations, Engineering) to deliver a seamless customer experience * Provide market, competitive, and customer intelligence to inform sales strategy SPECIAL PROJECTS & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT * Support strategic initiatives and special projects across the sales organization * Champion AI adoption and digital tools to improve sales efficiency and customer engagement * Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased effectiveness TRAVEL * Travel approximately 30–40% of the time within Canada for customer visits, business development, training sessions, trade shows, and field collaboration QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * Post-secondary education in business, engineering, or a related field preferred * 3–5 years of experience in outside sales, account management, or technical sales * Experience selling through wholesale, distribution, or contract hardware channels is a strong asset * Experience in the automatic door, construction hardware, or building products industry is an asset * Valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout Canada required * Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset SKILLS & COMPETENCIES * Good understanding of Automatic Swinging and Sliding Door Systems * Proven ability to build, maintain, and grow customer relationships * Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex product systems * Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills * Self-directed and disciplined, with the ability to manage a territory and work independently in the field * Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, etc.) * Problem-solving mindset with a proactive, customer-focused approach KEY ATTRIBUTES * Results-driven with an entrepreneurial approach to growing the business * Highly collaborative with the ability to work across multiple teams * Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment * Strong initiative with a desire to contribute to team success * We are the ASSA ABLOY Group Our people have made us the global leader in access solutions. Requirements
Requires 3-5 years of experience in technical sales or account management, preferably within the construction hardware or automatic door industry. A post-secondary degree in business or engineering is preferred, along with a valid driver's license for extensive travel.
