Purpose: Athene is seeking an experienced actuarial professional to lead Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) valuation and financial reporting across our global insurance platform. This role plays a key part in supporting regulatory reporting, capital management, asset-liability management (ALM), and strategic business initiatives while partnering closely with teams across Canada, Bermuda, the U.S., and Apollo. As part of our growing Canadian actuarial organization, you'll help modernize valuation processes, influence enterprise methodologies, and provide insights that shape critical financial decisions. Accountabilities: * Lead quarterly and year-end Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) valuation and financial reporting across multiple legal entities. * Drive continuous improvement of valuation infrastructure by enhancing automation, controls, analytics, and reporting efficiency. * Partner with Finance, Investments, Risk, Apollo, regulators, and auditors to support capital management, regulatory reporting, strategic transactions, and ALM initiatives. * Provide actuarial expertise and business insights that support capital optimization, reinsurance transactions, dividend planning, and enterprise decision-making. * Influence valuation methodologies, assumptions, and actuarial best practices through cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership. * Leverage modern analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve actuarial modeling, reporting quality, and operational efficiency while mentoring and sharing knowledge with actuarial colleagues. Qualifications and Experience: * 6+ years of relevant actuarial experience in life insurance or reinsurance valuation, capital management, financial reporting, or related actuarial functions, or relevant experience. * Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or equivalent required; Fellowship (FSA) preferred. * Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or another related quantitative discipline. * Experience with EBS, LICAT, CALM, or comparable regulatory capital and valuation frameworks; experience with annuities, pension risk transfer (PRT), or other asset-intensive insurance products is preferred. * Experience with actuarial modeling platforms (e.g., AXIS, MG-ALFA) and strong proficiency with Excel and modern analytics tools such as Python, R, SQL, and Power BI. * Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems, influence stakeholders, communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, and thrive in a collaborative, fast paced environment with a continuous improvement mindset. * Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance analytical workflows is a plus Drive.
