Job summary

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW As a Municipal Engineer within our Municipal Infrastructure Group in the Engineering, Design and Project Management Division, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality civil and utility projects across western Canada. You will be responsible for overseeing all civil engineering aspects of the project, ensuring that design deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and functionality. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to successfully deliver the civil design components within the specified timeframe and budget. You will work closely with other discipline leads, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and client satisfaction. YOUR ROLE * Develop detailed civil and utilities engineering designs, drawings and analysis for the civil infrastructure from preliminary concepts, specifications, bid documents, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications for the projects in collaboration with multi-discipline teams, construction staff and clients. * Prepare calculations, Plans, profiles and cross-sections, presentations for the contract packages in collaboration with multi-discipline teams, construction staff and clients. * Manage the design packages delivery ensuring QA/QC, and compliance while following project budgets and timelines. * Complete civil & utilities designs within a team consisting of engineers, engineering interns and CAD technicians in the planning, execution, and management of civil, property, utilities and drainage design packages. * Communication and stakeholder management including making presentations to the clients, authorities, and management to present designs, proposals, and address their needs and concerns. ABOUT YOU * Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. Licensed BC Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). * Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on civil municipal & utility design. * Ability to lead complex civil engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams. * Experience in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. * Experience in attending and representing the civil design team in project meetings, workshops, and presentations. * Proven track record of successfully managing civil design components of large-scale infrastructure projects, from conception through to completion. * Strong understanding of municipal design and construction standards and guidelines in BC, construction specifications and regulations. Familiarity with municipal and provincial clients and approving agencies. * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Project. Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $93,800 - $129,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
