We are currently seeking a qualified Buyer II to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing purchase orders, supplier performance, critical material requirements, and supply risks to ensure continuity of operations. The role will also support shortage recovery, sourcing and RFQ activities, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional initiatives focused on supply chain performance and optimization. Location: Montreal, QC – Côte-de-liesse (ST-LAURENT) Job Type: Full Time Working Arrangement: Hybrid Responsibilities Execute and manage purchase orders from requisition through delivery. Monitor supplier performance and delivery commitments to support continuity of supply. Manage strategic and critical supplier relationships. Lead recovery efforts for material shortages and delivery issues. Analyze supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Execute sourcing recommendations and commodity strategies. Participate in supplier business reviews. Mentor junior buyers and provide operational support. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support cost reduction and supply chain optimization efforts. Lead complex RFQs and sourcing events under commodity management guidance. Work closely with planning, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and other cross-functional teams to support material availability and operational requirements. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline. 3–6 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supplier management, manufacturing, or supply chain, with demonstrated experience managing critical suppliers, shortages, and cross-functional initiatives. Bilingualism is mandatory. Strong manufacturing and supply chain knowledge. Experience managing supplier performance and delivery commitments. Strong independent problem-solving skills with the ability to be resourceful and make decisions across different levels. Strong supplier management and negotiation skills. Strong analytical and data-reporting skills. Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience managing strategic or critical suppliers and shortage recovery activities. Proficiency with ERP systems; Oracle experience is an asset. Aerospace or technology-sector experience is an asset. Experience with aircraft parts or mechanical structures is an asset. Knowledge of hardware equipment, sheet metal, or machinery is an asset. SCMP, CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent professional certification is an asset.
