We are currently seeking a qualified Systems Communications Payload Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing both payload architecture design and RF system performance analysis and performance budgets (i.e., capacity, Gain, GoT, EIRP) during the payload life cycle, including bids, requirement definitions, project implementation, testing phases, along with R&D activities in support of payload or processes improvement. Location: Montreal, QC Job Type: Full Time Working Arrangement: Hybrid Responsibilities Support or lead satellite payload design activities and participate in electrical and RF system performance evaluation. Prepare engineering documentation, including system requirements, specifications, design descriptions, verification and validation matrices, and system budgets. Perform system analyses and support program reviews (EQSR, SRR, PDR, CDR). Assist with payload assembly, integration, and testing (AI&T) and participate in test reviews (TRR, TRB, DRB, NCR). Support payload testing, including EGSE operations, test supervision, and data analysis. Contribute to satellite-level testing, in-orbit testing (IOT), and subcontractor technical monitoring. Support DC/RF harness design, payload layout, and preparation of the Payload Operations Manual. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. Minimum 10+ years of experience in telecommunications satellite payloads. Experience with RF communication systems, payload integration and testing, and system modeling/simulation. Familiarity with digital signal processing, Direct Radiating Array (DRA) antennas, and digital communication standards such as DVB-S2X and DVB-RCS2. Knowledge of digital modems, channelizers, and digital beamforming systems. Understanding of network switching protocols (Ethernet, MPLS) for non-terrestrial networks. Familiarity with digital communication interfaces such as SpaceWire and CANBus. Strong technical documentation and communication skills in English; ability to work with international customers. Canadian citizenship or permanent residency preferred.
