Role Description The Law Clerk will support legal counsel by preparing and organizing legal documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with case management. Daily tasks include conducting legal and factual research, drafting correspondence and basic legal forms, and ensuring documents are accurate, complete, and filed in a timely manner. The Law Clerk will communicate with clients, courts, and other stakeholders to gather information and provide status updates, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Mississauga, ON, requiring consistent collaboration with the lawyer and administrative staff. The position involves managing deadlines, tracking matters, and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the firm. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law, with knowledge of areas such as real property, immigration and refugee, and an interest in litigation. Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, reviewing, and organizing legal forms, correspondence, and filings. Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with clients, courts, and colleagues. Solid Research skills for locating statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal authorities relevant to client matters. Strong Writing skills for preparing clear, concise, and accurate legal documents and client communications. Post-secondary education in Law Clerk studies, Paralegal studies, or a related legal discipline (or equivalent experience). High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with legal practice management software and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF tools). Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and client-centered service. Previous experience in a law firm or legal environment in Ontario is an asset.
