Position Overview We are seeking an associate lawyer with 2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation, insolvency & restructuring, creditors' rights and/or construction litigation. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside established practitioners in a growing litigation practice, who are committed to hiring and developing the best and brightest legal and business professionals. About Us Banack Deren LLP is an Edmonton-based law firm with roots dating back to 2017. Founded by Jason Banack as HGA Law and initially operating as part of the HGA Group, the firm began with a corporate and commercial practice and expanded to include a litigation practice in 2024 when Mandi Deren joined the firm as a partner. Before building Banack Deren LLP, Jason and Mandi each spent many years practicing at large downtown Edmonton law firms. Those experiences provided a strong foundation, but also shaped their vision for a different kind of firm: one that combines sophisticated legal work with close client relationships, a deeper understanding of the businesses and people it serves, and consistently thoughtful, practical and strategic advice. Banack Deren LLP provides a broad range of legal services, including corporate and commercial law, commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring, construction law, employment law, and estate and succession planning.
