Role Overview As a Lab Support Staff Coordinator , you will lead operational workflows and support laboratory team performance while ensuring high-quality specimen collection, processing, and service delivery. Key Responsibilities Include: Coordinating daily operations and delegating technical and administrative functions Developing staffing plans and monitoring time, attendance, and payroll processes Serving as a preceptor and training resource for new hires Providing leadership, education, and mentoring to lab support staff Monitoring inventory and maintaining appropriate supply levels Supporting regulatory compliance and participating in surveys Overseeing specimen collection, receipt, and processing for inpatient and outpatient testing Communicating with nursing, providers, and external laboratories regarding testing and specimen handling Performing phlebotomy and supporting patient specimen collection as needed Qualifications Education Required : High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Experience Required : Clinical or related experience Preferred : Phlebotomy experience Licensure / Certification Required : Phlebotomy certification within one (1) year of hire (ASCP, ASPT, or AMT) OR Completion of BayCare Client Services training (3 approved CBTs and 1 approved class) within one (1) year of hire (only for roles not performing phlebotomy) What We Offer BayCare provides a competitive total rewards package designed to support your career and well ‑ being, including: Comprehensive Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits Paid Time Off Tuition Assistance 401(k) Match plus Annual Employer Contribution Wellness programs and community perks Take the Next Step Join BayCare and take on a leadership role supporting laboratory operations and patient care excellence. 👉 Apply today to join BayCare as a Lab Support Staff Coordinator!
