Acute Physical Therapist Assistant Key Responsibilities Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist. Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional ADL (Activities of Daily Living) mobility interventions. Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist. Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions. Adhere to infection control and hospital policies. Qualifications Experience in acute care or hospital setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Requirements BLS (Basic Life Support) PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months Required Associate's Physical Therapy Preferred 1-year Physical Therapy Assistant Location: St Josephs Main Hospital - Tampa, FL Status: Pool, Exempt: No Shift Hours: Variable/Days Weekend Work: Occasional On Call: No How often will this team member be working remotely? Requirements
Requires a PTA license or temporary licensure within 6 months and BLS certification. An associate degree in Physical Therapy is required, with one year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
