Job summary
Type of position: Regular An overview of your future role at BBA You’ll report to the Principal Director, Legal Affairs, and help manage the legal operations of a leading consulting engineering firm involved in major projects across Canada and internationally. As a paralegal, you’ll play an active role in managing contract life cycles, ensuring corporate compliance, coordinating cases with Operations teams and external legal counsel and supporting strategic initiatives related to legal affairs and international mobility. An Overview Of Your Mandates And Responsibilities Help prepare, review, negotiate and administer commercial, service, confidentiality and subcontracting agreements Manage the contract life cycle, including tracking approvals, signatures, renewals and contractual obligations Coordinate the maintenance of corporate records for the group’s entities, including annual filings, updates with government registries and monitoring corporate compliance requirements Prepare and maintain various legal records, databases and document management systems Coordinate insurance certificates and requests for legal documentation required for projects Work with Human Resources teams on legal matters related to work permits, visas and international mobility initiatives Conduct legal and regulatory research, as needed Help manage corporate, compliance and governance matters Help continually improve Legal Affairs processes and tools Coordinate certain activities with external legal counsel. Overview Of Job Requirements Diploma in paralegal studies or a related field At least five years of experience in an in-house legal affairs department, a law firm or a comparable professional setting Experience in contract management or commercial law Excellent command of the 365 Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use other software and computer platforms Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment Proficient in English and French, both spoken and written, to support the firm’s Canadian and international operations Strong analytical and synthesizing skills Organized and ability to work on a team Initiative, autonomy and ability to adapt to changing priorities Asset: fluent in Spanish to support operations in Chile and Peru Asset: experience with contract or document management platforms.
