Job Location: Surrey, BC Employment type: Permanent Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/week) Annual Salary: $109,700 - $138,700 No. of positions: 1 Closing date: September 20, 2026 Position Highlight: Project Manager 1 (VAM Facilities) manages Vegetation and Access Management team led programs for generation and substation facilities, non-integrated and non-electrical facilities. Includes contractor-delivered herbicide applications and tree removals at stations to ensure safe, compliant, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible execution. What you’ll do * Develop project plans, including scope, budget, schedule and project team responsibilities to complete the facilities vegetation management program that Vegetation and Access management leads. * Establish standards for the implementation of the project and monitor progress to ensure the work is carried out in the most cost-effective manner using project management principles. * Ensures that internal and external resources with appropriate skill sets are provided, assigns work and provides instructions, advice and technical leadership and guidance to project staff; reviews work in progress and assesses completed work for accuracy, required results and quality assurance. * Ensures contractors have appropriate training and access to BC Hydro sites so they may complete their work. * Works with SFO schedulers to schedule access to sites for vegetation management activities • Works with Vegetation specialists to ensure quality of Daily operations records for invoice payments * Assist with the development of contract scope, specifications and associated documents for vegetation management contracts * Can develop and oversee the implementation of mitigation and compensation plans. * Can represent BCH in discussions and negotiations with regulators and other agencies and secures licenses and regulatory approvals as required. * Investigates and analyses unusual problems, evaluates risks and applies innovative solutions. * Seeks new technology, processes and products that will benefit the project. * Develops and/or accepts a wide variety of technical documents and maintains technical standards for area of expertise. * Can develop and present business cases, prepare project reports and, at completion, finalize all financial transactions and complete final reports. * Perform other duties as assigned Skills and Knowledge Required * Good working knowledge in environmental management, forestry, vegetation management, or a related field * Good working knowledge of BC Hydro’s vegetation maintenance process and related programs. * Good working knowledge of electrical utility operations, particularly generation and substation environments * Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards (e.g., IPM Act/Regulation, environmental regulations, safety standards) * Strong Project management knowledge and demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent programs or projects What you bring: * Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, forestry, biology, engineering, business or a related discipline • Courses in Project management. * 6–9 years of related experience in vegetation management, environmental programs, or utility operations, including experience managing contractors and projects * Availability for travel, sometimes to remote locations and outside normal working hours is required * Exposed to construction sites and remote locations where a portion of the time is spent walking over rough terrain. Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, forestry, biology, engineering, or business with 6-9 years of related experience. Candidates must possess a valid BC Driver's License and be in good standing as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
