They will work collaboratively as part of a team to plan and implement programs aligned with Chief Atahm School's philosophy and principles.Chief Atahm School is a parent-operated institution where staff, parents, and elders work together to provide a high-quality education grounded in our community's vision and values. The school actively develops Secwepemc language and land-based learning resources and currently offers a robust outdoor education program that includes mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and hiking.Chief Atahm School is founded on the belief that a strong and healthy community is rooted in knowledge of Secwepemc language, traditional practices, and cultural values. Our goal is to prepare students to succeed in today's world while empowering them to protect the earth for future generations.This vision is reflected in the integration of traditional knowledge and practices across all grade levels throughout the school year. The program is supported by dedicated language and cultural resource people, as well as a teacher assistant.The successful candidate will be a collaborative educator with excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to fostering parent and community involvement. The Intermediate teacher will also be expected to actively participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities.Qualification and experienceSuccessful classroom teaching or practicum experienceBachelor of Education degreeAll applicants must be eligible for certification by the BC Ministry of Education: Teacher Regulation BranchMust be able to obtain and provide an acceptable Criminal Records CheckUnderstanding of Secwepemc language, values, history and culture is an assetSalary: To be determined, based on the school salary grid and the candidate's qualifications and years of experience.Interested applicants can apply by submitting a cover letter, resume and at least two professional references, one of which must be from a previous supervisor.
