As such, the successful candidate will not be able to vacate this position using Appendix C as each position can only be vacated once as per clause (c): "a position vacated during the school year in accordance with this appendix cannot be vacated subsequently by another teacher in accordance with this appendix."Schedule: Tuesday - ThursdayQualifications All postings require:A valid BC Teaching CertificateCommitment to support the full range of student abilitiesEffective communication skills with students, parents and colleaguesCommitment to continuing professional developmentSuccessful experience with adapting and modifying materials for a diversity of learnersWorking knowledge of using computing technology to support learningA commitment to the Principles of Inclusive Schools and Principles of LearningRequired Qualifications:Bachelor of Education (Elementary)Post-Graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree in Special Education including University course work in the following (or equivalent) courses:Student ExceptionalityAssessment for Special EducationCollaboration and Consultation in Special EducationBehavioural, Social and Emotional NeedsAssistive TechnologyTeaching Students with Developmental DifficultiesDifferentiating Instruction/Inclusive ClassroomsAdvanced Assessment and InterventionFive years of demonstrated successful classroom/Instructional Support teacher experienceDesirable Characteristics/Attributes:Demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom for elementary school age studentsAbility to work closely as a member of a teamEffective communication skills, demonstrated through positive relationships with students, staff and parentsPlease Note: Thank you in advance for applying.
