SOUTH DISTRICT COMMUNICATION SKILLS SPECIALIST TEACHERAn employment opportunity exists for a Temporary Part-Time (0.2 FTE Literacy) South District Communication Skills Specialist Teacher effective September 1, 2026 to the full return of the incumbent or no later than June 30, 2027. Requirements: A university teaching major, or its equivalent, relevantly related to the teaching position; Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children; The focus of this role will be to support teachers to enhance students' Communication Skills in literacy; Work in collaboration with the District staff to plan and provide professional learning opportunities and support teachers in designing for personalization of student learning; Have proven skills with creating strength-based, core competency centred student action plans and supporting student success though individual student goal setting; Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students' strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs; Understanding of local resources and environment; Teacher Regulation Branch certification. Competitive Salary: $15,083 - $24,044 per annum Remote and Rural Allowance: $700 per annum Travel Allowance: $241 per annum Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts Teachers currently employed with the district need only submit a letter of intent.
